Megastar Mammootty has a lot of films that hit the second part. Mammootty also has a history of making four films in the same series and getting them into theaters. Mammootty played the role of an investigator in the case.
It was announced years ago that there was another movie in the CBI series. However, there was little information about the film. Mammootty is reportedly preparing for his fifth film in the CBI series. Though there is no official information, the CBI is reportedly coming soon.
The first film in the series was the 'Oru CBI Diary kurippu', directed by K Madhu, written by SN Swamy. 'Oru CBI Diary kurippu' was released in 1988. The film became a super hit and released a second part titled 'Jagratha'. It was released on 1989. In 2004, 'Sethurama Iyer CBI' released as third part and the fourth part 'nerariyan CBI' in 2005.
With all four films hit, it was announced that a fifth part of the film would be coming up with CBI stories. The film is expected to start filming in 2019. But no further information was released. However, it is known that the megastar has been approved for the CBI film. Mammootty is satisfied with the script written by S N Swamy for the film.
The shooting of the movie, which is scheduled to be released in the year to come, is expected to begin by the end of this year. K Madhu will direct the film. Jagathy's presence in all the films made by Mammootty as a CBI officer was there. This time too. Speaking at a function recently, Jagathy's son said this in CBI's fifth series.
Screenwriter S N Swamy has earlier said that the 5th part of CBI will be another Malayalam thriller. He had to work hard, both mentally and emotionally, to prepare this script. He had earlier said that the script was completed with much effort. Anyway, the audience is waiting for another detective story. Mammootty's upcoming films are nearing completion.
